A CASED 38-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'ADAMS PATENT', serial no. 22533R/B6888,
circa 1858, with blued octagonal 7in. barrel, engraved band at muzzle, scroll engraving to barrel throat and each barrel flat with borderline engraving, the top-strap and top-flat signed 'DEANE & SON No.30 KING WILLIAM ST.T. LONDON BRIDGE' BORDERLINE and scroll engraved plain five-shot cylinder with further engraved border to leading edge and numbered '22533R' within a scrolled banner, fully borderline and scroll engraved solid frame with sliding safe to right hand side and marked 'B6888' ADAMS' PATENT' within an engraved recurved banner, spurred hammer, chequered walnut one-piece grip, domed iron butt-cap with central trap, scroll engraved trigger-guard bow and fitted with an articulated rammer to the left hand side of barrel, strong amount of finish remaining and complete with its makers oak storage case lined and compartmented in green baize and including a period flask, nipple-key, turn-screw, oil bottle and nipple-pot with later caps and cleaning accessories
